South Molton becomes a destination of choice for a Sunday day out
I’m very pleased to report that we have secured a number of new, and unusual, traders to the Antiques, Collectibles, Vintage and Nostalgia Fair in South Molton. Held on the 3rd Sunday of the month this Fair has begun to put South Molton back on the map as an antiques centre. In addition to the high quality jewellery, furniture, collectibles, ceramics and fabric traders, new traders include those specialising in agricultural antiques, vintage clothing and furniture restoration.
Antique traders break records at Pannier Antiques market in South Molton
One trader phoned a friend in Plymouth to ask for an ambulance “that bad?” asked the friend “No, I’ve just broken all personal records for sales” gloated the trader! They weren’t the only ones. All traders reported excellent sales.
The pannier market is a huge space to fill and buyers were flocking in looking for a bargain. “Excellent quality of antique“, enthused one buyer struggling with their purchases “and great that there is free parking so I can get these purchases in the car and come back to explore more stalls”.
This lively Sunday Antiques Fair provides an opportunity to come and browse in the spectacular pannier market in the heart of the market town of South Molton, just off the North Devon link road, half an hour’s drive from the M5. An excellent Café provides hot and cold drinks with additional stalls providing local pastries and juices.
Word of the success is getting around and we are looking to increase the number of quality traders to ensure that the next market market builds on this success. If you are interested in being part of this success story then please contact Michael@pannierantiques.com.
We have established ourselves as a physical and virtual market place for antiques.
This website is our initial marketing tool and will be backed up by physical marketing in the press, radio and through the use of flyers.
Our first physical antiques market was held in the historic pannier market in South Molton on Sunday 30th November 2014. Access to the market provides traders with facilities to drive in, unload/reload and drive out. South Molton is a market town off the A361 link road from the M5 to Bideford.

We are limited to the number of stands we can offer but would welcome traders’ enquiries to sell their goods. It is essential that we get the correct balance of quality traders offering a range of items to appeal to the broad range of prospective buyers we expect. In order to protect against our reputation goods should be correctly identified and traders have a sound reputation within the trade.
